Welcome to Our Community

Mainstream scouting programs no longer serve families seeking tradition-rooted, heritage-focused character education for their children. Saga Scouts was founded to fill this gap — providing a scouting experience built on ancestral values, practical skills, and community bonds that mainstream organizations have abandoned.

Our Journey

Discover the Path We've Taken

We are a community-run organization serving families of European heritage. Local groups — called Kindreds (multi-family charters) and Hearths (single-family units) — operate with support from our national body. Parents participate as leaders, activity specialists, and mentors. This is not a drop-off program; it is family involvement by design.

Our Structure

Our programming is divided into the following age groups. Each one focused on a different learning focus appropriate to the developmental age of the children. While the badges are the same at each level the knowledge and skill to complete them grows and changes with the needs of the age group.

  • Tales (ages 3–6): Introduction through play and story
  • Scribes (ages 7–9): Building foundational skills
  • Bards (ages 10–12): Applying knowledge in teams
  • Skalds (ages 13–16): Mastering skills and leading
  • Skald Mentors (ages 17–18): Teaching and transitioning to adulthood
